Jordan has led the Marine Recycling Corporation (MRC) team to a long planned expansion to Canada’s west coast. MRC was recently awarded a project to raise and remove a sunken ship in the Fraser River. This is a challenging job but I know Jordan and his team, along with a good group of professionals subcontracted to MRC will succeed again.
MRC was also awarded a contract to tow and recycle a car/passenger Ferry from Quebec, the Lucien-L. The small ferry was successfully towed from Sorel Quebec last week to MRC’s Port Colborne ship yard, after a 24 hour delay at Kingston on Lake Ontario for weather/wind.
MRC is currently in discussions with various agencies regarding Vessels of Concern, currently sunk or stranded in Canadian waters. This is all part of Canada’s new legislation to clean and keep clean our water environment. Abandoned vessels have caused serious concern across Canada’s water ways as well and a program to address these many, mostly smaller water craft removals, is planned to start in 2022.
As always, stay well.
